Solving Outlook XP/2002 Disconnect Problems
If you are getting disconnected while in Outlook XP/2002, you may have it set to disconnect after sending and receiving emails.
The following steps are meant to guide you through changing this setting.

Open Outlook XP.
Click the Tools Menu. Click Options within the Tools menu. |

Click the Mail Setup tab.
Put a bullet next to Warn before switching an existing dial-up connection. Uncheck Hang up when finished with a manual Send/Receive. Click OK to exit the Options menu. |

Click the Tools menu.
Click E-mail Accounts within the Tools menu. |

Put a bullet next to View or change existing e-mail accounts.
Click the Next button. |

Select your BCPL email account and click the Change button. |

Click the More Settings button. |

Click the Connection tab.
Put a bullet next to Connect using my phone line. Under Use the following Dial-up Networking connection: select your BCPL connection. Your BCPL connection may or may not be named BCPL. Click OK to exit the Internet E-mail Settings window. Click the Next button. Click the Finish button to exit the E-mail accounts window. |
