Windows 3.1 Internet SetupNote: The vast majority of Windows users have upgraded to Windows 95 or 98. Most software companies no longer support Windows 3.1 and finding free programs for 3.1 on the Internet is becoming increasingly difficult. BCPL.NET does not guarantee that you will be able to connect to us with Win3.1 and we highly recommend upgrading to Win95 or Win98.Windows 3.x did not ship with the software necessary for graphical access to the Internet. In order to have graphical access, you will need to obtain a TCP stack, dialer and web browser. Even without this software, you will still be able to send and receive text-based email using the terminal program built into Windows 3.x (see the following section.) You will also have text-only Internet access. Unfortunately, many sources of web software for Windows 3.x have dried up. We offer the following suggestions:
If you find that these solutions do not suit you, please call the BCPL.NET Internet Services Accounts Department at (410) 887-4172 and request a refund. If you cancel your account within 30 days, you will receive a full refund. After 30 days, your refund will be pro-rated from the date your account was activated. The setup fee is not refundable. |
