Windows NT Connection Guide

From the Desktop, double-click My Computer and then double click Dial-Up Networking. You will now see a Dial-up Networking setup box. Click the New button.

If this screen doesn't show up, skip to the next step.

You should now see a window entitled New Phonebook Entry. If it has the word Wizard in the title, or if the window does not look like the one on the right, click here to continue.

For Entry name, type BCPL (or whatever you would like to name this connection).
In the Phone number box, type 4102965500.
Click on the Server tab.

Click Ok.

You will now be back at the original setup screen. Click on the More pulldown menu and select Create shortcut to entry.

A window will appear for you to place the new BCPL shortcut; the window defaults to Desktop so if you want the shortcut to appear on the desktop just click OK.

You are now finished with the setup. Next you will need to test the connection.

Testing the connection

Click Dial.

Fill in the User name and Password field. You can optionally click the Save password box.

Click Ok.

If everything is correctly configured, you will see a window indicating that you are connected. If you do not see this, look at the task bar near the clock and see if there is an icon with two computer screens or a modem: if so, you are connected. If you do not see this, double click the BCPL icon again. It will either tell you that you are connected or prompt you to try to connect again.

You have now established a connection with BCPL. You may now run a web browser, e-mail program, etc.
