POWER OUTAGE 3 JUNE 1997 BRINGS BCPL DOWN

At 9:50 AM, Tuesday, June 3, a power failure left our section of Towson in
the dark.  All our equipment is on uninterruptable power supplies so our
Internet service didn't go down immediately.  However BG&E predicted that
the outage could last as long as three hours.  Rather than risk file
damage when the UPSs finally petered out, we shut everything down. 

Power was restored at 11:25 AM, at which time we brought the service back
up.  We regret the interruption, but it was beyond our control.
