----------------------------- ACCESS SERVER PROBLEMS SOLVED ----------------------------- In a System News message posted earlier today I reported a problem which was causing connections to be dropped with increasing frequency. Beginning some time Wednesday night all seven of our Cisco AS5200 access servers began rebooting themselves due to bus errors. The intervals between reboots got progressively shorter as time went on, until by mid-morning today they were occurring about every 20 minutes. Working with Cisco Systems' Technical Assistance Center, we were able to determine that the cause was an operating system bug. The solution recommended by Cisco TAC was to backgrade to a slightly older version of the operating system. This was done, beginning with the first access server at about Noon and ending with the seventh at about 2:45 PM. This seems to have solved the problem, but we will be watching the access servers closely to make sure. Many thanks for your patience through the interruption in service! ------------------------------------------------------------------- If you have questions about this, or about anything else related to your BCPL Internet Account, please contact the BCPL Help Desk.
