NEWS SERVER MAINTENANCE SUNDAY NOV 30

ABSnet has informed us that their Usenet News server (news.abs.net) will
be taken down for a while today (Sunday, November 30) to rebuild corrupted
spool files.  The corruption occurred due to a loose connection in the new
disk array.  The down time is not expected to be lengthy. 

As announced in an earlier System News, you can always get the current
status of the news server by pointing your Web browser at the following
URL:  http://news.abs.net
