ACCESS SERVER DOWNTIME, TUESDAY DECEMBER 9

The first batch of 56K modem upgrades has arrived (see System News,
November 5, for details).  At 3:30 PM today we will take one of our access
servers (dialup-1) off line in order to install the new modems.  If you
are connected via dialup-1 at the time you will be disconnected, but if
you dial back in your call will be answered by one of the remaining six
access servers.  The upgrade should take about an hour, so dialup-1 should
be back on line well before evening peak hours. 

Sorry about the short notice, but the modems have just arrived and this is
our best window of opportunity to install them.  Details about the upgrade
will be posted to System News soon after dialup-1 is back on line.
