PLANNED NEWS SERVER DOWN TIME TUESDAY DECEMBER 23

We have received word from ABSnet that they will be taking the news server
(news.abs.net) down either late this afternoon or early this evening to
remove a defective 2.1 GB hard drive.  Down time for that procedure should
last no more than thirty minutes. 

ABSnet is expecting delivery of four 4.5 GB drives for the news server
today. If they arrive on time, they will be installed when the 2.1 GB
drive is removed. That will extend the total down time to about two hours.
