ROUTER CRASH CAUSES ACCESS FAILURES

At about 6:50 PM this evening one of the central routers on our wide area
network crashed, taking down most of the WAN with it.  This caused
connection problems for our dialup customers and brought most computerized
services in our branch libraries to a halt.

The router problem was resolved at about 8:05 PM, restoring normal service
for our dialup customers and all but four branch libraries.  Those four
libraries were back on line by about 8:50 PM.

Sorry about the interruption!
