------------------------------------- SCHEDULED DOWN TIME FRIDAY JANUARY 30 ------------------------------------- As part of a major reorganization of our work area, we will be moving most of our servers to a new location within the department. This will require that the servers be shut down for a few minutes on the morning of Friday, January 30. At the same time we will rearrange our PRI lines in order to redistribute the load more evenly among our access servers. The server move and PRI line redistribution will begin some time between 8:30 AM and 9:00 AM. The total down time should be about fifteen minutes. o Dialup customers may lose existing connections and will be unable to make new connections while the PRI lines are being redistributed. o Dialup customers and BCPL staff will not have access to our UNIX host or to any of the services it provides (user authentication, domain name service, e-mail service, etc) while it is being moved. o BCPL staff will not have access to our Windows NT file servers while they are being moved. We regret the interruption in service, and will do everything we can to keep it as short as possible. --------------------------------------------------------------------- Please contact the BCPLnet Help Desk if you have questions about this System News message or about anything else related to your account.
