BCPL.NET SYSTEM NEWS: MAIL.BCPL.NET DOWN TIME

At approximately 8:00 AM Friday, July 10, we will take down our primary
UNIX host (mail.bcpl.net) in order to switch it over to a new UPS
(uninterruptable power supply).  Total down time should be no more than
ten minutes.

The following services will not be available during the down time:
o UNIX shell account logins.
o FTP access to your disk space on the UNIX host.
o New PPP connections.  Existing PPP connections will not be interrupted.
o E-mail.
o Web pages hosted by www.bcpl.net, www.bcpl.lib.md.us, and
  www.bcplonline.org.
o Primary DNS service. Secondary DNS service will not be interrupted, but
  DNS lookups via the secondary name servers may be slow.

We regret the interruption in service, but this is our best window of
opportunity for the switch to the new UPS.
