SUN SPARC 1000 MEMORY PROBLEM UPDATE

A technician from Sun Microsystems will be on site at approximately 2:00
PM today (Fri, Sep 4) to replace the faulty memory modules in the Sun
SPARC 1000 UNIX host (mail.bcpl.net).

The UNIX host will be shut down while he is working on it, hopefully for
no more than an hour.  While it is down you will not be able to make PPP
or UNIX shell connections, send or retrieve e-mail, browse Web pages
located on our Web server, or anything else dependent on mail.bcpl.net.
For all intents and purposes, our service will be completely down while
the SPARC 1000 is being repaired.

We regret the interruption in service.  Thanks for your patience!
