SCHEDULED DOWN TIME FRIDAY MAY 7

At 7:30 AM on Friday, May 7, we will take our primary UNIX computer
(mail.bcpl.net) off line to complete the installation of additional disk
space.  The work is expected to take about one hour, so mail.bcpl.net
should be back on line by 8:30 AM.  During the down time no services
dependent on mail.bcpl.net will be available.

BCPL.NET Customers:  For all intents and purposes it will be impossible to
use BCPL.NET Internet accounts during that time.

BCPL Branch Libraries:  During the down time PCs in the branches will not
be able to access e-mail, CARLweb, the BCPL Web site, or Novelist.  
Access to other Web sites and Web-based databases will probably be much
slower than usual, if they work at all.  All services should be back on
line well before the libraries open for business.

We apologize for the interruption in service.
