OLD MODEM POOL PHASEOUT: TUESDAY 1 OCTOBER 1996

As I write this (Tuesday, Oct 1, 10:50 AM) Bell Atlantic is in the process
of disconnecting our 296-5500 number from the old modem pool and moving it
to the new modem pool. 
 
The cutover will take several hours to complete.  Anyone who is connected
via 296-5500 during the cutover period may be disconnected without
warning.  To avoid unexpected disconnects, we recommend that you not use
296-5500 today.  Use 296-2771 instead, which will connect you to the new
modem pool.
 
Once the cutover is completed, dialing either number (296-5500 or
296-2771) will connect you to the new modem pool.  The old modem pool
will not be available after that time.
 
The three-hour session limit, which was suspended while we had the old and
new modem pools operating in parallel, will be reinstated later today.
