BCPL'S INTERNET CONNECTION DOWN DUE TO POWER FAILURE AT UUNET

Some time late this morning (Monday, September 2) UUNET suffered a power
failure at their Vienna, Virginia site.  BCPL's connection to the rest of
the Internet is via that site, so until power is restored we are cut off
from the rest of the world.  You will be able to use resources on the BCPL
network as usual, but you will not be able to connect to anything outside
the BCPL network. 
 
At 1:00 PM the UUNET Network Operations Center told me that they and the
local power company are working on the problem, and that they hope to have
power restored by about 2:00 PM.  We will keep in touch with the UUNET NOC
and will keep you informed if there are any new developments.
