---------------------- DEAD LINES ON 296-5500 ---------------------- While troubleshooting our 296-5500 modem pool today, I discovered that seven of our incoming modem lines have gone dead. If your call happens to hit one of those dead lines you will get an endless ring with no answer. The problem does not seem to be within our own facility, so we have reported it to Bell Atlantic. They cannot do anything about it until the morning of Monday, June 17, so the "ring - no answer" problem will persist at least until then The lines were last checked on Thursday, June 14, and there were no dead lines at that time. What ever happened must have hapened late Thursday or some time on Friday. We apologize for the inconvenience and aggravation we know this will cause!
