POSSIBLE SERVICE INTERRUPTIONS ON TUESDAY 18 JUNE 1996

On Tuesday, June 18, starting at about 6:30 AM, Bell Atlantic will begin
moving our T1 data lines from the existing copper cables to our new fiber
optic cable.  This will interrupt our connection to UUNET, and therefore
to the rest of the Internet.  It will also interrupt access to 48 of our
dial-up lines (those which are brought into our computer room via T1
lines).  The interruption should last only a few minutes, but it is not
certain exactly when it will occur. 
 
At about the same time, an electrical contractor will install several new
circuits in our computer room.  It may be necessary to shut off power to
the computer room for a short time, which will shut down our modems and
terminal servers. Again, the interruption is expected to last only a few
minutes, but exactly when it will occur is uncertain.
