USENET NEWS ACCESS FROM THE NEW MODEM POOL

Effective 3:00 PM today (Thursday, September 19), access to Usenet News
for PPP-based news readers will move from the old modem pool to the new
modem pool.  If you want to use a news reader on your PC or Mac, you
should now use the 296-2771 modem pool.
 
This does not affect those of you who read Usenet News from UNIX shell
accounts.  Access to the newsgroups is available from UNIX shell acounts
regardless of how you access the account.
 
Additional news about the new modem pool will be posted to System News
later this evening.
