------------------------ INTERNET CONNECTION DOWN ------------------------ Shortly after 10:00 PM Friday night we lost our connection to the rest of the Internet. UUNET (the supplier of that connection) informs us that the point of presence through which we are connected has suffered a power outage. The problem is being worked on, and UUNET expects their POP to be back up very soon. Until the problem is corrected you can connect via modem to BCPL and can access resources on the BCPL network, but attempts to connect from BCPL to remote sites on the Internet will fail. E-Mail for non-BCPL addresses will be queued on our server, and E-mail from elsewhere destined for BCPL addresses will be queued by a mail exchanger at UUNET. All queued e-mail will be delivered when the connection is restored.
