----------------------------- VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY AT BCPL ----------------------------- The Baltimore County Public Library has received a substantial grant to participate in a prototype project with MicroSoft. This project will culminate in the creation of a computer "Family Learning Center" at the Essex Library allowing access to the Internet as well as to a suite of MicroSoft products. The library is looking for volunteers to assist in orienting the staff and the public towards these products. Under the direction of the "Family Learning Center" Coordinator, volunteers will provide support for library customers and staff in computer learning resources. They will work in the center answering a variety of questions on various CD-ROM products and the Internet. They may assist in compiling and maintaining project statistics. Competence with a Windows environment and the Internet is highly desirable. Experience with various MicroSoft products (such as Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Encarta, etc.) is also helpful. Committment to customer service and the ability to work with all types of people is required. Flexible hours are available. Please call Ms. Fein at the Essex Library (887-0295) if you are interested in helping with this exciting project.
