INTERNET CONNECTION DOWN: 15 MARCH 1996

At approximately 3:45 PM today (Friday, March 15th) the T1 line between
BCPL and UUNET went down, cutting us off from the rest of the Internet. 
This meant that you could connect via modem to BCPL and could access
anything on the BCPL network, but attempts to connect from BCPL to remote
sites on the Internet failed.
 
Bell Atlantic found and corrected the problem at 5:40 PM, so we are once
again connected to the rest of the world.
