ABSNET NEWS SERVER IS BACK ON LINE

The news server at ABSNet (news.abs.net) was brought back up shortly
before noon today (Wednesday, March 23), after being down since some time
last Saturday.  Those of you who use Windows or Macintosh news readers via
PPP connections should be able to resume reading your favorite newsgroups
as usual. 
 
Those of you who use Pine to read newsgroups will need to make a minor
change in your Pine configuration, as explained in a second System News
message being distributed along with this one.  If you use Pine to read
Usenet News, please be sure to read the instructions in that message!
