The new version is in a message with the subject "FW: JOKE", and the attachment is a program called "Very Funny.vbs". This program is practically identical to the "LOVE-LETTER-FOR-YOU.TXT.vbs" program attached to the "I Love You" message, but appears to have been altered to prevent detection by the updates most antivirus software companies issued to fight the "ILOVEYOU" version. The antivirus software companies will undoubtedly issue new updates to cope with this new strain of the virus, but in the mean time a bit of common sense will prevent your computer from being infected. If you receive an e-mail message with the subject "ILOVEYOU" or "FW: JOKE", and/or with an attachment called "LOVE-LETTER-FOR-YOU.TXT.vbs" or "Very Funny.vbs": Delete the message without opening it. If you do open the message, do not extract the file attachment or save it to your hard disk. If you do extract it or save it to your hard disk, do not run the program. If you do run the program, be prepared for a LOT of grief.
