It is having serious memory problems, requiring replacement of a bank of SIMMS. We apologize for the very short notice, but this is our best opportunity to get the job done. While mail.bcpl.net is down most BCPL.NET services will be unavailable. If you already have a PPP connection at the time your connection will not be broken, but you will not be able to send or receive e-mail, and you will not be able to log into your UNIX shell account. If you do not already have a PPP connection, you will not be able to establish one until mail.bcpl.net comes back up. If you use a terminal program (HyperTerminal, ZTerm, or similar) to dial directly into your UNIX shell account, your connection will be dropped when mail.bcpl.net is taken down, and you will not be able to reconnect until it comes back up. Replacing memory SIMMS is normally a quick job, so we don't expect the down time to last much more than fifteen minutes.
