While this is being done we will have no other connection to ABSnet, so there will be no access to their Usenet News server (news.abs.net). The down time is expected to be very brief, so the connection should be back up and access to the news server restored by no later than 5:10 PM. However my standard disclaimer about Murphy and his law applies. From BCPL.NET customers' point of view the connection to ABSnet is used only for reading Usenet News. The rest of our Internet traffic is routed through a connection to UUNET Technologies, so all services except Usenet News will be unaffected by the router swap.
