I should know better than to wait until after Midnight to write instructions for an operating system with which I'm not completely familiar. Several of you pointed out errors in my instructions for disabling dynamic DNS updating in Windows 2000. Here is the corrected version: o Right click "My Network Places". o Select "Properties". o Right click "Dial-up Connection". o Select "Properties". o Select "Networking" tab. o Select "Internet Protocol (TCP/IP)". o Click "Properties". o Select "General" tab (it is probably the only tab). o Click "Advanced". o Select the "DNS" tab. o Remove the checkmark from "Register this connection address in DNS". o Click "OK" 3 times to save the changes and exit. Several of you asked "Where is 'My Network Places'". It's an icon on your Windows 2000 Desktop. If you use Windows 2000 but don't have a "My Network Places" icon on your Desktop, use "Start" --> "Settings" --> "Network & Dial-up Connections" to get to the same place. See the previous version of this message for an explanation of why this configuration change is necessary.
