This was announced in BCPL.NET News on February 19, but see the following if you missed it: http://www.bcpl.net/news/news.20020219a.olddom If you want to receive mail addressed the old way but haven't let me know yet, send e-mail to ispadmin@bcpl.net. I'll add you to the list. Yes, BCPL staff, this applies to you too. A number of people misunderstood the February 19 announcement, apparently thinking we would block mail to username@bcpl.net and require customers to use username@mail.bcpl.lib.md.us instead. No, it's the other way around. username@mail.bcpl.lib.md.us is the address format we used in the early days of BCPL.NET, and that is what we are now blocking. The username@bcpl.net format was adopted several years ago, and that is what we recommend all customers use. Several people asked whether username@mail.bcpl.net will still work. Yes it will, but we recommend that you use username@bcpl.net instead. The username@mail.bcpl.net format works because our mail server is named mail.bcpl.net. If we ever have to move the mail server function to a different computer, username@mail.bcpl.net will stop working.
