If you were already connected to BCPL.NET when the failure occurred, you probably could not reach the mail server, the Web server, or anything out on the Internet. If you tried to establish a new connection after the failure occurred, you were probably unable to do so. I discovered the problem at about 7:30 AM (yes, contrary to popular belief even I sleep occasionally), came in, and rebooted the router at 7:50 AM to bring the interface back to life. Apologies to all our night owls for the interruption in service. Chip -- BCPL.NET INTERNET SERVICES 320 York Road Towson, MD 21204-5179 U.S.A.
