As a first step in troubleshooting the problem I need to take the router off line, shuffle some of its modules around, and modify the configuration file to suit the new module locations. I didn't expect to do this until the end of this week or early next week, but today we had another brief failure so I am moving the work forward to 7:30 AM tomorrow (Tuesday, April 23). If all goes well the router should be back on line within a few minutes, but no later than 8:00 AM. If you are a BCPL staff member using a PC in a BCPL library or office: While the router is off line you should be able to access everything on the BCPL WAN, but you won't be able to access anything out on the Internet. If you are a BCPL.NET customer who dials in from home: If you already have a connection when I take the router off line, you will not be able to reach your e-mail, our Web site, or anything out on the Internet. If you try to establish a new connection while the router is down, the login phase of the connection will fail and you will be disconnected. For all intents and purposes BCPL.NET Internet Services will be down while the router is off line. I apologize for the very short notice, but this work needs to be done immediately.
