How this will affect you depends on whether or not you already have a modem connection to BCPL.NET, and on what you are trying to do over that connection. If you attempt to make a new modem connection during that time period, it may fail due to user authentication errors. If you already have a dialup connection you may find that you cannot access the BCPL.NET mail server (mail.bcpl.net) or Web server (www.bcpl.net), or may not be able to log into your UNIX shell account. If you are connected via a modem in an access server attached to one of the affected switches, you may not be able to access anything at all. The actual work should take no more than ten minutes, but we are allowing a 30-minute window to allow for the unexpected. We recommend that you not try to use your account between 7:00 AM and 7:30 AM on Wednesday. If you do, you should be prepared for interruptions.
