If your account existed prior to September 9th, and if you have not already switched to the new-style login, then you need to switch now If you don't, your login attempts on or after March 3rd will fail. March 3rd is only a week away, so please don't put it off. Instructions for switching to the new-style login are on our Web site at http://www.bcpl.net/help/switch/ . If you have trouble following the instructions, call the Help Desk at 410-887-3297 from a phone within reach of your computer. Our Help Desk technicians can talk you through the necessary changes very quickly. We've heard from a number of customers who weren't sure whether they had already switched. If you're not sure, follow the instructions at http://www.bcpl.net/help/switch/ anyway. It won't hurt anything. We've also heard from a number of customers whose accounts predate September 9th, who are convinced that they have always used the new-style login. If your account existed before September 9th, and if you have not switched to the new-style login since it was announced on September 8th, then you are using the old-style login. You may be using a login script to automate the login, but it is still the old-style login. You must follow the instructions at http://www.bcpl.net/help/switch/, or your logins will fail as of March 3rd. We expect the Help Desk to be extremely busy on March 3rd helping people let the deadline pass without switching. Make the change now to avoid the post-deadline crush. If your account was created on or after September 9, 2002, you can ignore this.
