Date: Thu, 18 Sep 2003 14:18:25 -0400 (EDT) From: BCPL.NET SysAdmin To: BCPL.NET News Subject: BCPL.NET NEWS: Closing Early Due To Isabel ----------------------------------------------------- BCPL & BCPL.NET CLOSING EARLY DUE TO HURRICANE ISABEL ----------------------------------------------------- All Baltimore County Public Library branches and offices, including the BCPL.NET offices and Help Desk, will close at 5:00 PM today (Thursday September 18) to allow staff to get home before Hurricane Isabel reaches our area. Any voice mail or e-mail left for the BCPL.NET Help Desk or other BCPL.NET staff while we are closed will be answered as quickly as possible when we reopen. BCPL.NET's equipment is on a UPS (uninterruptable power supply), so will continue to operate if power to our building fails. This means you should be able to access the Internet and your BCPL.NET e-mail throughout the storm as long as the power outage doesn't last very long. However... If a power outage lasts more than a couple of hours the UPS batteries will run down, and our equipment will shut down.
