In most cases e-mail addressed to those domains was returned to sender with error messages implying that it was rejected for policy reasons or because they had received too much spam from BCPL.NET. The "spam" issue turned out to be virus e-mail being sent out from a BCPL.NET customer's infected PC. That problem was resolved quickly, and at our request AT&T, Verizon, and Comcast removed their blocks on BCPL.NET e-mail on Monday of this week. However e-mail from us to MSN, Hotmail, and WebTV (which all share the same e-mail system) continued to be blocked until late this morning. Approximately 8500 messages for MSN, Hotmail, and WebTV that had been queued for future delivery during the blockage were delivered by about Noon. If you sent e-mail to any of the domains mentioned above and did not receive a non-delivery report indicating a permanent failure, you can be fairly confident that your mail got through. If you received a non-delivery report indicating a temporary failure, it means that your message was queued for future delivery. If you did not receive a subsequent non-delivery report indicating a permanent failure, then your message was eventually delivered and there is no need to resend it. If you received a non-delivery report indicating a permanent failure, you should resend the message. We apologize for any inconvenience the delayed mail delivery might have caused. Things seem to be back to normal now. Chip -- BCPL.NET INTERNET SERVICES 320 York Road Towson, MD 21204-5179 U.S.A. Web Site: http://www.bcpl.net Who To Contact For What: http://www.bcpl.net/contacts/
