The uninterruptible power supply in our computer room kept BCPL.NET's modems and servers going for a while. However we had to maintain enough UPS battery capacity to keep the library's mainframe computer running, so we eventually had to shut down some BCPL.NET equipment. This caused most dial-up customers to lose their modem connections, and it may have interrupted access to some services. Power was restored at about 8:20 PM and all BCPL.NET equipment was brought back on line at that time.
