Who We Are
The Emerald Isle Club was founded in 1956 by a group of Irish friends who wanted to keep their Irish heritage alive in Maryland and to pass it down to future generations.
For more than forty years, the Emerald Isle Club has been known for its support of traditional Irish music and dancing, Irish charities, Irish ancestry in the local community, and a strong monthly social program. The Emerald Isle Club is a non-sectarian and 501(c)3 charitable organization.
The Emerald Isle Club extends an invitation to all people who are strongly committed to these same ideals to join with us and to strengthen the awareness of Irish heritage in the Baltimore and Maryland communities.

Maryland license plates on their cars. These plates show the letters EIC
followed by four numbers. On the bottom of the license plate, the name "Emerald
Isle Club" is printed.
Members who have them say that Irish people wave
at them or honk their horn when they see Irish license plates. In addition, it
is very easy to remember your license number when asked! A unique license plate
also makes your car easier to find in shopping malls and sporting event parking
lots, etc.
