The
Center for Educational Reform
The Center is a results-oriented
advocacy group, which is independent, non-partisan and not-for-profit.
Serving as a clearinghouse for information on innovative reforms
in education, the Center: (1) provides guidance to communities
striving to improve their local schools; (2) promotes reforms
to increase accountability, assessment and access; (3)
advocates academic standards as the cornerstone of effective
education; (4) identifies cumbersome regulation and barriers
to restoring local control over education; and, (5) encourages
greater educational opportunities and choices for teachers and

Coalition of Essential Schools (CES)
Growing national network of over 1,000 schools and 24 regional
support centers whose mission is to increase student achievement
by supporting school reform which challenges educators to rethink
priorities and the redesign of curriculum, instruction, and assessment.
The
Developmental Studies Center (DSC),
formed in 1980, is a nonprofit organization whose mission is
to help children develop
intellectually, ethically, and socially. The work of DSC is financed
by contributions from more than 40 philanthropic foundations,
government agencies, corporations, and individuals. The programs
and materials have been recognized as exemplary by National Association
of Elementary School Principals, the National School Boards Association,
and the U.S. Department of Education.

at Risk (CRESPAR)
Mission is to conduct the research, development, evaluation,
and dissemination needed to transform schooling for students
placed at risk. The work of the Center is guided by three central
themes -
ensuring the success of all students at key development points,
building on students' personal and cultural assets, and scaling
up effective programs - and conducted through research and
development programs in the areas of early and elementary studies;
middle and high school studies; school, family, and community
partnerships; and systemic supports for school reform.

(RBS) is a private, nonprofit corporation which currently operates
the Mid-Atlantic Eisenhower
Consortium for Mathematics and Science Education and previously
served as a regional educational laboratory, both under funding
from the U.S. Department of Education. Based on its 30 years
of service to the education community, RBS also offers educational
technology, development, evaluation, technical assistance, and
training services. RBS Publications provide R&D-based products
for practitioners and policy makers.
