Ellen Ward married Robert Gilmor of Baltimore of the well-known family of that name. They lived at "Glen Ellen" in Baltimore County and had a large family.

  1. Robert Gilmor, lawyer and Judge of one of the City Courts who married first Ella, daughter of B. M. Hodges, Jr.; 2nd Josephine Albert, daughter of Augustus Albert. He was a cultivated and most agreeable man. A son is now (1907) in the U.S. Army.

  5. Colonel Harry Gilmor of the Confederate Army, was born January 24, 1838 at "Glen Ellen", the family estate in Baltimore County, Maryland. Read this interesting article by Gary Baker about Harry Gilmor's famous "ride around Baltimore" in 1864 during the Civil War. Fascinating reading for Baltimore natives who will recognize many names and locations. Harry later served as a Police Commissioner for a number of years, and wrote his account of his war time experiences in "Four Years In The Saddle." He died in March of 1883 after a long and painful illness. Harry Gilmor was laid to rest on Confederate Hill in Baltimore's Loudon Park Cemetery. A handsome statue of Stonewall Jackson looks down on his grave, General Johnson is buried several feet away, and both men are surrounded by the men who had served with them in the Confederate Army.

  8. J. Campbell Graham Gilmor
