Son of Robert Veazey and Lucie Dermot Veazey.
Born born January 6, 1722.
Positions held:
- Vestryman of St. Stephen's Parish 1746.
- Church Warden in 1748. (St. Stephen's Register)
- Associate Justice of the County Court for Cecil County under the provincial government in 1764, 1768, 1769
- One of the Justices of the Quorum of the County Court for Cecil County in 1772 and 1773. (See Archives of Maryland "Commissions").
- Member of the House of Burgesses of the Province of Maryland 1768 to 1774.
- Member of Convention of Provincial Deputies 1774, 1775 and 1776.
- Signed Association of Freemen of Maryland July 26, 1775.
- Elected Colonel of Bohemia Battalion January 6, 1776.
- Member of House of Delegates of the first General Assembly of the State of Maryland which assembled February 5, 1777.
He married Ann Milbourne June 14, 1749.
He had a number of children, among them:
- Edward Veazey (71) (of Cherry Grove), who was elected on January 8, 1776, Captain of the Seventh Independent Company of the Maryland Troops of the Continental Army and was killed at the battle of Long Island during the Revolutionary War August 27, 1776. (See Proceedings of Conventions and Assembly as to Colonel Veazey and his son.) He is NOT to be confused with the Edward Veazey who died in Granville County, North Carolina about 1770/1771 [note from "Descendants of John Veazey" by Anne Veazey Davis.]
