  • Isaac Davis's great grandfather came from Wales and settled in Worcester Co., MD, which was then Somerset County, probably in the late 1600s. He lived and died in Worcester/Somerset Co., MD. and died at 112 years of age.
    1. Thomas Davis moved from Worcester Co. (which was then Somerset Co.), MD to Sussex Co. Delaware sometime before 1739. He had 8 sons and 3 daughters and died at the age of 80.
      1. Saul, oldest son of Thomas Davis; died at the age of 90 on the Mississippi.
      2. Jehu Davis (1738-1801) married 1st Rhoda Laws in Laurel, DE (which was then Broad Creek in Sussex Co., DE); They bought land near Milford in Kent Co., DE.; m. 2nd Sarah Douglas. The Milford property was passed on to Henry Davis.

          1. Joshua Davis (1789 - aft. 1856) m. Sarah Emelie Wyatt
          2. Rhoda Davis (5/19/1793 - bef. 1831) m. William F. Corbitt

          4. Henry George Davis (d. aft. 1856) married Elizabeth Caldwell. They lived near Wye Mills, Talbot Co., MD. and were members of the Old Wye Church. Elizabeth Caldwell Davis, also of Talbot County, MD and daughter of Jabez and Sarah Caldwell, both of Talbot or Queen Anne's Co., MD, died August 30, 1862.
            1. Henrietta George Davis, born in Talbot (or Queen Anne Co.), married Thomas Ward "Sixth of Woodlawn" (1847 - 1890) of Cecil County, MD.
              1. Elizabeth Caldwell Ward, died unmarried
              2. Thomas Veazey Ward, died in infancy
              3. Henry Davis Ward Sr. married Isabell Myers
