It has been claimed that John Ross who married Elizabeth Griscom was Rev. Aeneas Ross's son but it seems to lack proof of any kind. This Elizabeth Griscom was known as Betsy Ross who made the first American flag. There is no explanation of the circumstances that she was an upholsteress living in a humble condition of life. Further information is necessary to justify any claim of relationship or connection with Ross of New Castle by Mrs. Betsy Ross. [Aeneas was buried with his father inside the church at New Castle.]
