At the time the Rent Roll was made in 1707, several of the Ward family had long been resident in Cecil County. These were William Ward (2), Henry Ward (104) and Colonel John Ward (106), and a Miss Catherine Ward, who is said to have been the second wife of Augustine Herman of Bohemia Manor.
