Back to Fitness Therapeutic Riding

Back to Fitness Physical Therapy (BTF) offers individual sessions in Hippotherapy, a program that uses horses as an integral part of the rehabilitation process. BTF treats patients of all ages for cerebral palsy, developmental delay, multiple sclerosis, hypotonia and balance disorders as well as autism. A Registered Pysical Therapist works directly with the patient on specially trained horses, assisted by 2 or 3 trained aides. Most major insurances pay for the hippotherapy which is included in an individualized therapy program.

We are a treatment site for the Multiple Sclerosis Center affiliated with University Hospital. We are Seeing lots of patients aged 2-70 with diagnoses from MS, cerebral palsy, autism, stroke, developmental delay, chromosomal abnormalities, Rett's syndrome, apraxia, hypotonia. We have 4 beautiful therapy horses, a quarterhorse-clydesdale mare, a thoroughbred gelding, a red and white paint quarterhorse, and a arab-appaloosa gelding. We work all year round due to the indoor for inclement weather, and the shaded path for the summer.

Volunteers: You can make a difference! Volunteer time at BTF can be used to satisfy community service hours required for graduating high school students. Call or email below for more information.

BTF is also looking for that special horse to use in its program. If you have a sound, quiet horse to donate or sell, please call or email below.

Back to Fitness is located in Carroll County Maryland. For more information about BTF, call Robin Korotki, PT at 410-371-8140 or the Back to Fitness Physical Therapy Center at 410-825-0650, or email back2fitness{at}verizon.net.
