From Anna Espinoza: and I thought it would be nice to share pictures of my beloved Arab, Alia. I purchased her myself on my 16th birthday. In order to keep my best friend, I baby sat, cleaned house, and had a paper route to pay for board, tack, training, and entry money for horse shows. Alia and I rode in many classes together and won many ribbons. Before moving here to Baltimore, Maryland, I sold Alia to my best friend's Aunt. I miss you Alia!

From Brittany: This is me and my 16.2 hand Thoroughbred, dark bay gelding named Jag. As you can see he's a nice jumper. In fact he's just starting to be a hunter/jumper and jumps 3' easy! I'll be showing him in the upcoming Baltimore County shows as well as Harford and other local shows. At right is a pic of me and Mystical Million Mare. "Milly" is an outstanding mare, and a Cheerokee Raider champion. I'm sure if you do CR shows you know her. I love this horse to death; she was my first horse ever and I'll never sell her.

From Lauren: "Tonto" belongs to Mack Shifflett of Middle River, who has kindly lent him out to me for my riding pleasure. I am having lots of fun trail training this curious five year old. So far, my only problem is whenever I try to pick his front hooves, he thinks I want him to bow!

From Daisy: At left is my dun quarter horse mare Rodeo. A very competitive horse. Sadly she got killed in a bad accident. I miss her a bunch. The sorrel horse at right is Jackaboo, the one I compete on now. He is doing excellent on the speed events.

From Chris Donathan: This is Bone Chill a 2 year old Standardbred colt. He is more like our BIG dog. He loves his red ball, comes running when called and loves a good rub down. I think his AKA will be Big Dog...

From Jennifer O'Connor: This is me and my horse Princess. She is a sweet registered half arab. Princess and I were both born in raised in california but we moved to Belcamp MD in 2002. Princess is my first horse and I love her so much. She is my life. At right is an action pic of Princess and me goofing off.

This is Emily. She is 5 years old. She loves this horse from a farm in Finksburg, Maryland. His name is DR. He is very gentle with her. She can't wait to be a great rider and jump him over jumps.

From Lauren Defeo: If you scroll down through these photos you will come upon one of the most wonderful horses in the world. Unfortunately, I was only able to enjoy his company for ten years - not nearly enough. Duggan passed away last July of cancer. The Black Racker pictured above has the impossible task of filling his hooves. Duncan is handsome, hearty and healthy, and does his best to aggravate me. Perhaps, he is warning me that my next ten years are going to be 'trying' not him!

From Maribeth: this is darby, my 19 year old irish TB gelding. ive had him for 5 years, since my freshman year of high school. hes still at home in MD, but im away at college in vermont, and i miss seeing him, so my mom visited him and took these pictures for me. it doesnt really look like it, but hes actually afraid of cameras. thanks alot & i hope you like the pics. have a nice day.

From Libbi Yardley-Bruzdzinski: I wanted to enclose a few photos to brag...er...uh.. introduce my 3 yr old daughter Elyse & her desire to be a well rounded horse person. 1)The Border collie JD becomes a surrogate as Elyse begins to demonstrate that it may be time to look for a pony. 2)Attempting to have my 3 yr homebred Danish/Tb cross "Pickett" was cost effective idea....but at 16.3+ was clearly not a good leadline prospect. 3)Borrowed bliss ! From Nicole in Crownsville, MD: The two photos at left are my Paint Filly Royal Evening Star "Eve", a 2000 blue eyed Buckskin tovero filly by Royal Bar Twist out of Morning Star. I bought her earlier this year and I absolutely LOVE her. I sold the mare at right a few months ago to my friend Rachael. This 1998 Black overo mare is named Fancy By Design or "Fancy" by Designer Brand out of Dial A Norfleet. Fancy is doing well and working out perfectly in her new home, Best Wishes to Rachael and Fancy!

Hi my name is Jeanna Calabrese. I moved to Bel Air Maryland a year and a half ago from Jackson Mississippi where I lived for 1 year. I lived in Kentucky for 8 years before that. I have been riding American Saddlebreds for 8 years now. These are pictures of me and an American Saddlebred Pleasure Horse that I rode in Pennsylvania.

Jamie Stuart shows Bickels Elegant Dream at the 2000 AMHR National Show at Columbia MO. Bickels Elegant Dream was 5th of 27 entries in Model Mare 34" and under, 1st of 24 entries in Multi Color Mares 34" and under and 3rd of 17 in Aged Mares 3 and older, in the 32-34" class. Jamie is from Bel Air, Maryland.

My name is Liz, and this is Pete. He is my first horse - you know - the one I had been begging my parents for since I was seven years old and finally got when I was thirty? It might have been more appropriate for them to get him for me when I was seven, because he is a great babysitter! Isn't he handsome?

From Kristin Gratz: Here are two pictures of my TB gelding. His show name is Canada Dry (aka Winston). I show him in the amateur owner divisions. These pictures show us warming up on the flat.

My name is Ewa and I live in Warsaw, Poland. I don't have my own horse yet, but I'm sure soon I'll get one! This is a picture of my fave horse, her name is Dolina and she lives in a stable in Olsztyn in Poland. Unfortunately, Olsztyn is far from Warsaw and I can ride her only on holidays. I hope you'll like the pic!

From Kristen in Reisterstown, MD: Here's a photo of myself and my brand new 9-year-old thoroughbred mare, Case Closed ("Cassie"). Cassie is still new to the showing scene, but has done very well. She was champion in the hopeful hunter division at this show. She's a beautiful, sweet (spoiled) mare, and I'm sure we'll have many wonderful adventures together!

From Brooke: This is my 18 year old perlino gelding called Deno. I have owned him for 2 1/2 years and he is a great jumper. The chestnut is called Jinks, he is an Anglo Arab gelding who is 8 years old. We have owned him for 4 months.

From Kristin Gratz: This is a picture of me riding my mare at the Maryland National (A-rated show) in PG County. The mare's name is Future Gold. She is a TB/Oldenburg cross. I am working on a very successful showing career.

From Suzanne Ippolito: An update on Puppet (pictured now - at 3 months). At 2 months he went to his first show, and won the Non-TB colt class at Upperville!

From Sadie: The photo at left is Chrissy on Cheyenne Lady at her 1st show and she won 3 out of 6, which she only had 4 days to prepare for. She is being shown at Cherokee Raiders in Bel Air, Md. She is a happy Appy. At right is a photo of our horse Sassy Surprise which is chrissy's 1st horse. She has taken two Championships in Open speed last year on this mare. She's another happy Appy being shown at a Cherokeee Raiders Show.

From Christine Reupke: I'm from Toronto, Canada .... here's a picture of my hunter 'Notorious'. We were showing in the Adult Amateurs when this photo was taken, but since have moved to the Amateur Owners at 3'6". This is a horse I'm quite proud of since I've done most of the work in getting him to the ring and he was a cast-off from a pro's barn who didn't have enough time to get around some of his little quirks!!

Here is Jodi Rauso riding her newly acquired Hanoverian gelding Who's Next? in his very first show at the Elkridge-Harford Hunt Club. The pair walked away with two firsts, a second and a fourth. Since then, these two have won more blue ribbons, and continue to be successful showing this summer (2000).

Hugs and kisses from Rehoboth, Massachusetts: This is Nick the Nibbler giving Dorianne Kates a hug, while Bronson's Big Boy kisses her husband, Ron DeFeo. There is a lot of love at this couple's farm, dubbed "Club Dori," which boasts six horses, five dogs, too many cats to count, and the most recent addition, their first child, Britton Claiborne.

Above photo is Lindsay Welsh who lives in Middle River, Maryland and has been very successful showing her miniature horse. Her proud parents, Stephanie Romadka and David Ring, have been very supportive. Dad, who is new to the "show scene," says following the two around with a muck bucket all day "isn't half as bad as it sounds!"

Here is Baltimore Yahoo, Nancy Cox, aboard her appendix gelding Dancer on the left and barrel racing on Sugar at the Flying W Ranch in Pennsylvania on the right.

On the left is one of the Baltimore Yahoos, Yvette Dudok, aboard her trusty quarterhorse mare, Luscious Lizzie. Yvette has owned Liz for nine of her twelve years and can do everything with her, from tote an infant to race her hubby full tilt. At right is Ray Dudok aboard his much complimented sorrel quarterhorse, Zeus. Ray now rides an even more eye-catching, palomino mare named Dreamer, who pairs up with his wife's horse, Lizzy, wonderfully! Ray and Yvette recently celebrated their second wedding anniversary on horseback racing along the beach on Assateague Island in April.

From Sarah Woods: This is my 3 year old welsh pony at a local show. she has just been broke to drive this past march, and is doing wonderful. She loves to drive as you can tell in the picture.

From Cathie Ippolito in Va: Here are three pictures of the newest addition to my family, Marionette (aka..Puppet). The first picture is at one day old, and that second pic is with his dam, Audacity, a mare I used to lease & show in Jr. Jumpers. The last picture is Puppet, at five days old, deciding that I'm a pretty cool toy! He was born on April 1, 2000, is by Masquerade, and will be registered AWS, and HF. He'll be joining our other horses, Swatch (QH/TB gelding), Rainbow (TB mare), Chester (Shetland/Mini), and Tuppen (Fjord),on our farm as soon as he's weaned!

From Lisa Ferguson: This is my appaloosa, Candied Cody. I bought "Cody" over 7 years ago and we are the best of friends. He is only 13 years old and I'm looking forward to many more years with him.

Here's 10 year old Jessica and "Cowboy," the horse she is taking her riding lessons with. Jessica is from Rowlett, Texas, a small suburb just outside Dallas. Cowboy is from, well we don't know where Cowboy is from, but he currently resides nearby. Jessica has taken six lessons now, and is ready to start the next series of lessons. Naturally, she dreams of her father fulfilling his empty promise of buying a farm so she can have a horse of her own.

The photo at left is Bill and Karen Weddle on their wedding day! They were married on horseback at Battlefield Park, Prairie Grove, Arkansas. The photo at right is Karen Weddle and Shawnee (Remington Denero).

The photo at left is Kristina Heston and Maverick discussing the first day of the four day challenge ride at the League of Maryland Horsemen. In the photo at right, Kristina and Medicine Man frolic in the snow in western Maryland.

This is Fendi, aka Beauty Banner, with her new owner, 14 year old Lisa Bowers. This pair won the Junior Reserve Championship of the 1999 MWHA show series at Howard County Fairgrounds. It was Fendi's first show season ever, and Lisa worked really hard with her in order to do so well. Congrats to them both and best of luck in 2000.

This is Aleasha's Belgian mare, Cookie, and her new colt. This little guy was born on the ninth day of January in the new millenium.

This is Lauren DeFeo's 20 year old Canadian thoroughbred, Duggan's Dew. He's a friendly sort who kindly cooperates whether he's asked to trail ride overnight for four days in a row, jump fences, chase dirt bikes or accommodate screaming infants when their parents insist they really do want a ride on "the horsey."

From Christina Coleman: My buddy, my pal!! This is Charlie, my 13 yr old TB gelding. He's 'my out' from my busy life with our three boys. He makes everyday very special and sometimes eventful! He can roll on command, smothers me with "sniffies", he is so willing 'to go where no horse has gone before' on our trails (even when he shakes like a leaf!!!), he loves to swim, and BEST of all, he sucks his tongue after treats!! I'm sorry to say that he is for sale....... Thank You Charlie, for all the quiet moments and little rodeo's you give me on the trails!!!

From Amy Rollins: This is my mare Endless Summer. I'm CHSA equitation champion and Straw is CHSA hunter reserve champion and VHSA reserve champion. This season we're going to do the 3 feet in the horse ring and hopefully do some medal classes. She is the best horse in the world and I just wanted to show her off! My trainer is Joan O'Keffee, and I couldn't have done it without her.

From Susan Avery: the first photo is my horse Brandy getting groomed for a lesson. She is 3 1/2 yrs old in this pic. The second photo is a head-shot of my other horse Hunter. In the third photo, my daughter Meloney enjoys a leisurely ride on Hunter during a comfortable summer's eve.

From Lauren DeFeo in Middle River, Maryland: This is Jake, an eight year old Belgian stallion, who loves visits from any carrot-bearing human. Feeding Jake his favorite treat is 17 year old Aleasha Lester, a wannabe horse rider and owner. She's working hard on her dad, trying to get him to move to the country, buy her a horse or at least pay for lessons.

From Kim Norris: this is a picture of myself, my husband, Mike and my thoroughbred "Redolent". She is already 16.1hh as a three year old.

From Byrdie Donaldson: On the left is my Morgan stallion, Gabe (Severn Hill Gabriel). He is thirteen years old and a real sweetie! On the right is my gelding Romper (Baywind Mr Fashion). Now age 22, in 1989 he was the second Morgan ever to win a gold medallion in open competition, and he has done just about anything you could ever want to do with a horse!

From Kasey Bollack: This is a picture of me riding a beautiful horse named Lady. I used to lease Lady. She is a three year old quarter horse filly. She was young but great to ride. She was a total sweetheart! I usually rode her in the ring or in the fields around the farm. Sometimes I took her on trail. Lady was tons of fun to ride!

From Emily Daignault (a Maryland eventer out west): Since I sent a pic of me and my horse "Inside Trader" a while back, I figured I should send an update. "Punter" was sold and is now living happily in Florida with an old school buddy of mine from Oldfields. I am living in Burbank California and working as a riding instructor at a large riding school. Funny enough they name their school horses with U.S. state names. And "Maryland" and I get along great. I have attached another picture. This time it's of my new event horse, "Platinum Promise" aka "Gryphon". Hope all is well back home. Take care and love to all the true "valley" folks.

From Jana Malinova: The first two photos are of my 5-year-old Czech Warmblood. She is named Nica and she is a very good jumper. The last photo is Stefi, my boyfriend's 6-year-old sorrel mare. Me and my horses are from Prague, in the Czech republic.

From Monika Wardell: The photo on the left is Lancers Royal Amir as a two-year-old in 1997. The middle photo is 'Amir' in May 1999. He is registered purebred arabian and is 95% polish. The photo on the right is me jumping IM Mysticality. She is my good jumper mare. I have shown her up to 3'9" and schooled her 4' she is now retired as a broodmare.

From James McKinney: as you can see by the first photo, I'm a farrier. The second photo is my 12 year old App. He is kept in Glenwood Md. His registered name is Romances Boo Boo, but I call him Chance.

Hey there my name is Sara! The horse on the left is my 5 y.o. half fjord. He is my baby =). His name is ricky. The horse in the middle is my 3 y.o. 16.3 hand TB. his name is Mr. Red. I am just starting to train him now, I do dressage and jumping. The horses on the right are some of my other horses =).

From Amber Mercer in Montana: On the left is Ma Saad Mystique, she is a 6 y.o. Arabian mare. She is very curious and oh so cute :). My horse Sinnayn is in the middle. She is an 18 y.o. Arabian mare. She does everything under the sun. She is a great horse and I love her tons! On the right is my other horse Santana Supreme. She is a 7 y.o. National Show Horse (Arabian X Saddlebred). She is a wonderful horse but we might have to sell her 'cause my sister, her owner is going off to college. I don't want her to leave though!

From Krista Bracken: These two photos are of my favorite horses. The one on left is of my TB stallion (16.2 Eventer) Tiger and I schooling and the one on right is of my QH Gelding (15.2 Show Jumper) Mag and I schooling. These two horse are night and day from each other in looks and breeding, but they both had one thing in common. They are the best teachers I ever had (and I BROKE the QH) and the most giving animals I ever owned. PLUS they both can JUMP!!!!! *GRIN*

From Mark Susol: I have attached a picture of Bubba-Gump with his head out of his window at his new farm.. he's such a cutie! Bubba is a 17.1 HH Shire cross and a real favorite. How do you get Bubba's attention? Rattle his feed bucket. How do you keep Bubba occupied? Give him the whole bale of hay!

From Danny and Tammy Dierker: Here is a sad story with a happy ending. I found this horse standing in the middle of a field so weak he could not walk any further. The horse was near death from starvation. I brought him home and called the authorities and they contacted the owner, and after several lies she told me and the authorities the owner agreed to sell me the horse. He now is living on 10 acres of pasture with other horses and is doing really well. He is a registered QH named Sugs Jupiter, out of Dry Doc. He has reining points and is a cutting horse I have enclosed a picture of him when we found him and a picture of him one month later.

From Hope Gerdes : Here is a shot of baby Andy (Evergreen's Prince Alexander), a registered Belgian. Isn't Andy just the cutest thing you've ever seen? And no, I'm not prejudiced!

Kristin and Sari in their Junior Showmanship Class at BRAHA. Kristin and I are looking forward to a busy and exciting summer taking Sari as far as she can go! Kristin with her dear friend Vicky Wagner at the League of Maryland Horseman for the Easter Egg Hunt, April 98. These girls love to go bareback!"

From Ericka Schaefer: On the left is a photo of me and my horse Poco (aka: Cause For Applause), a 9 year old QH. We compete in Hunter shows and Fox Hunt. This past summer was our first show season together and we wound up Champion in Equitation and Reserve Champion in Children's Hunter in 2 local circuits. I was extremely proud! On the right is my 5 year old, 17.1 hand Hannoverian gelding, Two Of Hearts. We competed extremely successfully in First Year Green Hunters this year, and hopefully we'll do just as well in the Large Junior Hunters and the 2nd year Greens next year!

From Tammy Dierker: I have a Quarter horse mare named Cinnamon, which I have owned since she was 6 months old and now is 16 years old. Last year is both our first time having a foal. I was all ready for the big event to arrive, and from working at breeding farms I knew that it was her time to foal, or at least within a few days. I went to the house for an hour and when I had returned she had already had the colt and was getting up. Both were fine and the little fellow was ready to stand. We decided to name him Stormy since he was born on a stormy night. Here is a photo of them both and one of Stormy by himself.

From Monica Kietzke in Michigan: This is Simply Class my 94 red dun stallion, we are standing for the first time in Indianapolis Indiana - should be exciting getting his first foals! He was the 96 IBHA High Point Stallion in the Nation. Everyone always comments about his beautiful head and this photo shows that Quarter Horses are "Beautiful"!

From one of our visitors: This is a picture of a horse up for sale in Florida. He's an Arabian and he's 15. He's also an excellent stud on the side to go along with his looks!

From Mary Rowland: On the left is Altennia, my Arab/ISR mare and her first filly (Premium rated!), Amira al Nahar. She was bred and kept near the Potomac River and her name means "Princess of the River" in Arabic. Amira's sire is Zaunkoenig, an Oldenburg. On the Right is my beautiful Brueyna, an Arab, and her colt Farley, an "accidental" foal out of an Appaloosa.

From Pat Anderson: These beautiful Appaloosa-x mares belong to Nanci Ludwig, of Hollywood, Maryland. This was my first visit out to the farm, and, as you can see, they didn't mind posing for the camera at all.

From Angela Rzepecki: This picture is two-day old "Flight of the Eagle", a registered Quarter Horse that I bred. This is my first breeding endevor and am quite pleased with the results. "Eagle" was born April 7, 1997 and this picture was taken on April 9, 1997.

From Lois Aichholz: I scanned a picture that I thought you would like for your photo page. It's two foals in the pasture, one by my stallion Diamond Bill and the other by Seine Minstrel.

From Terry Bruno: These photos of my daughter Gaby and her Appy pony mare, Freckles were taken last summer when they were both 8 years old. We all live in Massachusetts.

From Becky Farrell: Grandma's making up for lost time. She's 67 years old and had never been on a horse in her life......Until she met Mi-Winn Illusion. With a little help from "Louie" and her son, Tim, Grandmom will be riding high in no time!

From Pat Anderson: The first photo is a friend's 7-yr old daughter, Mallory Lengle, and the pony's name is Tinkerbelle (Tinkerbelle is a POA - Pony of the Americas). This was Mal's first meeting with Tinkerbelle, prior to Maltaking riding lessons on her, and they hit it off pretty well. I took this photo in April of '96 in St. Mary's County, MD.

The second photo was taken after A Moment in Time's Spring '96 schooling show (AMIT is located in Leonardtown, St. Mary's County, MD). Malloryand her mom Kathy are putting Kathy's mount for the show, Sage, back in his pasture after a job well done.

Giorgio Bulgari says: "I would like to show you a picture, taken one year ago in a competition. You can not see her very well. I am sure You have never seen a horse like that, I don't mean about the jump, I mean her strange shape of the head". Giorgio's horse, which came from Czechoslovakia, died of colic in 1995. Giorgio lives in Italy and is a therapeutic-riding instructor. The second picture is Giorgio and "CASPAL 7th" ("Infinity" in English?).

From: Stephen Cook: Michelle Cook and Cash (AQHA Now or Nunca), admittedly a little on the forehand, schooling at Dahleen Dressage in Cedar Park, Texas. Cash is an ex-racing QH ($604 in 15 starts) with personality to spare.

From Diana Linkous, who had just moved Sarah to a new barn. "Tonight she is wearing her Weathabeata for her first night in the new place - it is a little big on her and has a tail flap as well, so she looks like a kid playing dress up with momma's blue nightrobe. The gelding in the stall next to her nickers to her and makes eyes at her, but she is, of course, aloof."

My name is Awesome. I'm a registered Miniature Horse, accent on the MINI, as I am only 18 inches high. I've heard people refer to me as something called a "dwarf", whatever that is. As you can see by my picture I'm a macho, ornery stallion. My hobbies are chasing lady horses, dogs, chickens, goats, cats and most of all, Steve, the human who takes care of me.
