County Museum of Fine Arts will have an exhibition entitled
"The Horses Are Coming!" from April 12 through June 22, 2008. The exhibition
is a celebration of horses throughout art history. Beautiful paintings and
sculptures will portray the majesty of the horse. In May, the celebration
of the horse will continue with two special events:
On Sunday, May 18 beginning at 2:30PM the artist Rebecca Pearl will give
an art demonstration. Ms. Pearl is a lifelong horse lover and uses horses
and other animals in her art.
On Sunday, May 25 at 2:30 P, Ann O'Shallie, M.Ed., Associate Professor and
Director of Equine Related Therapeutic Studies at Wilson College, will give
an informative lecture about therapeutic horsemanship and the healing
power of horses.

Scottsville, VA; RAIN OR SHINE.
Lonesome River Walkers will host our annual Spring trail ride on Memorial
Day weekend May 23rd- 25th. Primitive camping is available. Water will be
provided for horses and wood for campfires as well. Gate opens at 10 a.m.
on Friday and you may enjoy a self guided ride on well marked trails.
Dinner will be served on Friday night followed by campfire 'pickin'. On
Saturday breakfast will be served from 7:30 - 9 a.m. And the ride will
begin at 10 a.m. Photos will be taken on the trail and available for
purchase. Lunch and drinks will be served on the trail. On Saturday night
dinner will be served from 6-8 p.m. All meals served here at Lonesome
River are home cooked ALL YOU CAN EAT meals! On Saturday night you will
hear live music by the legendary SILVER CREEK BAND entertaining you with
the best of country, rock, and oldies. We will serve breakfast and lunch
Sunday. PRE- REGISTRATION IS STRONGLY ENCOURAGED! Lonesome River Walkers
offers one of the best trail riding experiences you will ever find in
Virginia! You must have current coggins and sign liability waiver at gate.

South for about 9 miles. After crossing bridge, turn right on Rt. 53. Go

turn left into a driveway at 2123 Martin Kings Rd. *From I-64 West: Get
off on the Scottsville exit and stay in left lane. Take left onto Rt. 53
East toward Monticello. Stay on Rt. 53 until you take a right on Rt. 618.
