It is a dark time in the galaxy. One civilization has already been destroyed. War is breaking out on the Rim. Hatred, fear, and intolerance are fanning the flames of a destroying conflict.

Earth stands as a shining light in space. Most of us were born there, our ancestors all were. We have all fought side by side to defend her against the Minbari. We defended her allies against the Dilgar. Our friends, comrades and families have sacrificied all to protect our home.

Now our president is accused of treason and assassination. His opponents declare themselves willing to shed blood to remove him. This is wrong. All of us, captains, officers, and crews are sworn to defend the Earth Alliance and its constitution. Now General Hague asks that you spill the blood of your comrades to break the constitution and bring down the president. We are not the Praetorian Guard. We are Earth's legions, her shield and sword.

I defend Earth, the Alliance constitution, and every citizen and soldier. Any ship attacking another Alliance ship will be destroyed by the Coeus. I repeat, any ship that fires unprovoked on any Alliance ship or fighter will be engaged and destroyed by my fighters and guns.
