Dear Parents,
Shady Spring Elementary has adopted the tenets of Invitational Education which is a philosophy that was developed by Dr. William Purkey. We believe that a person's success or failure in life is determined by the person's perception of himself, others, and the world around him. This perception in turn is shaped by inviting or disinviting acts.
Our staff has taken a close look at the places, people, processes and programs at Shady Spring. We have identified those areas which we feel could be more invitational and have developed action plans to help our programs become a reality. Each plan is built on the foundation of trust, respect, intentionality and optimism. We are consciously building an invitational school community where each individual student or adult is able to reach their full potential.
