SPECIAL RULES 1. PASSES: Exhibitor Passes will not be issued because there are no entry fees. 2. ENTER BEFORE AUGUST 1st, 2008: Entry Forms can be found online and mailed to: Superintendent, Farm & Garden Department, P.O. Box 188, Timonium, MD 21094-0188. Or go to www.marylandstatefair.com, click on the Maryland State Fair and enter your Farm & Garden entries online. 3. EXHIBITS ARE RECEIVED: Exhibits for Sections A through G are received on Tuesday, August 19th, 2008, from 1PM to 8PM, and on Wednesday, August 20th, 2008, from 9AM to 8 PM. Exhibits for Section H – Christmas Trees are received TBA, from 11AM to 3PM. Exhibits for Section J - Flowers are received according to the following schedule: First Flower Show: TBA Classes J1 – J76 (Note: Entries will only be accepted at these times) Second Flower Show: TBA Classes J77 – J175 (Note: Entries will only be accepted at these times) Third Flower Show: TBA Classes J176 – J247 (Note: Entries will only be accepted at these times) Fourth Flower Show: TBA Classes J248 – J337 (Note: Entries will only be accepted at these times) 4. COMPUTER ENTRY TAG: For each exhibit you have pre-entered, a Computer Entry Tag will be ready for you when you arrive with your exhibits. 5. JUDGING: Exhibits in Sections A, B, C, D, F, and G will be judged on Thursday, August 21st, 2008. Sections H and J will be judged according to their individual arrival times. Section E will be judged on Saturday, August 23rd, 2008. 6. JUDGES DECISION: The judges’ decisions are final. Judges have the right to reject any exhibit if deemed not worthy of an award, and judges also have the right to award a lower prize at their discretion. 7. TIES: In the event of a tie, each exhibitor involved will be awarded an appropriate ribbon. The exhibitors concerned will share the amount of money involved equally. 8. RIBBONS: Ribbons awarded to exhibits must be picked up at the time exhibits are released. Ribbons for exhibits donated to the "soup kitchen" will be mailed to the exhibitors. 9. EXHIBITS RELEASED: Exhibits will be released on Tuesday, September 2nd, 2008, from 9AM to 7PM. Exhibitors must present the "Claim Check" from their computer entry tag to claim exhibits. All unclaimed exhibits become property of the Maryland State Fair. 10. EARLY REMOVAL: Exhibits removed before the official release time will result in forfeiture of ribbons and premiums.
