MARLIN K. HOFF SCHOLARSHIP

A $2000.00 scholarship will be offered to Maryland youth who have carried a dairy project and are enrolled in a four-year college.  The Maryland State Fair will sponsor this new scholarship.

Qualifications and Stipulations:

1.      This scholarship is available to all Maryland dairy youth who are currently enrolled or have been enrolled in the dairy project either through 4-H, FFA, or breed organizations.

2.       Students must be pursuing a four-year degree at the college of their choice.

3.       This scholarship is available to entering freshman through entering seniors.

4.       The applicant is eligible to win this scholarship one time only.    

5.       This scholarship will be awarded during the Maryland Holstein Futurity at the Maryland    

           State Fair.

6.       Individuals may apply for both the Maryland State Fair Scholarship and The Marlin K. Hoff

           Scholarship, however, individuals may not be recipients of both scholarships.

 Application procedure:

1.       Attach a copy of your most recent high school or college transcript.

2.       Attach letter of recommendation from two of the following:

      a.       School principal, instructor or counselor.

      b.       College professor or advisor.

      c.       County agent, FFA or 4-H club leader.

      d.       Dairy farmer.

3.      Proof of enrollment to an accredited four-year college or university must be presented to the Maryland State Fair office by October 1st of the academic year in which the scholarship is awarded.

4.       A recent photo must be submitted.

5.      THIS APPLICATION MUST BE COMPLETED USING ONE INCH MARGINS, A MINIMUM OF ELEVEN POINT FONT, AND SHOULD NOT EXCEED FOUR DOUBLE SPACED PAGES, NOT INCLUDING TRANSCRIPTS AND LETTERS OF RECOMMENDATION.
