The Lions Club of Parkville purchased 42 acres of wooded land and
dedicated Double Rock Park May 7, 1946. The park was improved with
recreational equipment and donated to Baltimore County Department of
Recreation and Parks in 1952. Since that time the park has grown to 107
acres and includes pavillons, ball fields, playground, camping, picnic
area, a pond, stream and hiking trails. The Parkville Recreation Council
conducts many sports programs in Double Rock Park.
